Why I started MADESAI.
MADESAI is still at the beginning. This is not a biography or a record of scale. It is a personal note about the questions, experiences and convictions that led me to start it.

The small library beneath the stairs was an important part of my early life. My father created it as a place for reading, reflection and imagination. The idea for MADESAI came later, after graduation, while I was working on several startups and thinking about how 3D printing could be used in construction.
I began imagining a different way to build. We could model, analyse and design a structure, then execute it in smaller coordinated pieces. Perhaps a group of small robots could work together, guided by artificial intelligence. I did not have the technical means to build that idea at the time, but the question stayed with me.
My studies and my trip to China changed how I understood the possibility of making anything meaningful. I saw more clearly that important work is rarely created alone. People contribute different kinds of knowledge, experience, relationships and energy. Some work together because there is a commercial opportunity. Others begin with curiosity or a shared passion.
That became the deeper idea behind MADESAI: create opportunities for people and capabilities to find one another, explore what they might make together and then work out how to make it practical.
Today, MADESAI is taking its first practical form as an advisory and liaising studio. I help clients investigate questions, organise decisions and bring the right people and specialist capabilities into the work.
The practice is small, and it is still developing. That is not something I want to hide. It is the honest starting point from which MADESAI can grow.
